At Tri Delta, our partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital goes beyond driving change; it propels our shared mission forward. Together, we are unwavering in our dedication to making a difference in the lives of children facing cancer.
The St. Jude Walk/Run is a nationwide, 5K-hybrid cancer walk event, taking place in person and virtually. Participants come together with a team or as an individual for a 5K walk or run during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to help support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children.® This is an annual event for our Chapter occurring in September.
How your support helps:
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, and food because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saves at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

Our value of self-sacrifice has inspired us to raise an astounding $93 million since 1999, making us true trailblazers in the realm of philanthropy. In honor of our continued commitment, St. Jude named its on-campus, short-term housing facility Tri Delta Place. And Tri Delta consistently ranks among the top 10 corporate partners of St Jude and as the top fundraising non-profit organization!
Our members are the driving force behind our fundraising success. Each year, our dedicated collegiate and alumnae chapters raise over $5.5 million through campus events, our renowned DHOP (Delta House of Pancakes) signature event and the heartfelt Sincerely Yours letter-writing campaign. Members also participate in St. Jude’s Walk/Run and Memphis Marathon by forming teams, raising money and volunteering at these events.
As we look toward the future, our goals are ambitious. By 2025, we aim to reach a remarkable $100 million mark in our 25-year partnership with St. Jude. This milestone is within our reach, and we will continue to push boundaries, inspire others and change lives.
When you donate to Tri Delta’s fundraising efforts for St. Jude, you’re making a direct impact. Your support ensures that no St. Jude patient or their family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food. Together, we alleviate the burdens of these families, allowing them to focus on what truly matters—healing their children.
Tri Delta’s commitment to childhood cancer dates back to 1947, when 13 alumnae chapters in Southern California organized a “Sleighbell Luncheon” to help fund research at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. At the 1974 Convention, recognizing our members’ dedication and generosity, Tri Delta adopted childhood cancer as our philanthropic focus.
Tri Delta is changing the way the world treats and defeats childhood cancer through our powerful philanthropic work.
Sleighbell’s success inspired similar events across the country. Today, Tri Delta collegiate and alumnae chapters support local and regional children’s hospitals and pediatric cancer initiatives across North America, providing unprecedented financial assistance and awareness.
